There is a big difference between RF microneedling and microneedling. There is also a big difference in types of RF microneedling devices. Below is a little explanation of the commonalities and differences:

All microneedling results in needles going into the skin to create micro damage to stimulate the body's healing process. However, that is where the commonalities end. Microneedling without RF is more abrasive to the outermost of the skin, which can result in superficial trauma—leaving the skin red and rough-textured after the treatment. With RF microneedling there is little to no downtime and no resulting harmful damage to the skin.

All RF microneedling devices employ sterile needles to pierce the skin and simultaneously deliver radiofrequency energy. The energy heats the surrounding tissues to cause a controlled injury, which in turn activates the body's natural healing responses.

However, there are a variety of RF microneeding devices on the market, and not all of them will give you the dramatic results that you are looking for. We have invested in the best technologies available. We know that results are what matter, and our devices deliver amazing results.

We have two RF microneedling devices at our spa: Secret RF and Morpheus8 Body. Both devices utilize disposable heads with gold tipped needles. Secret RF needles can go from a depth of .5 to 3.5 mm. Morpheus8 Body can go from a depth of 2 to 8mm. Both machines are extremely good at delivering consistent RF to the specified depth.

Secret RF has three different head sizes: dense 25-pin (which is excellent for super tight areas, such as around the eyes and nose), 25-pin (which is perfect for the face) and 64-pin (which is great for larger areas on the body and the neck). The needles are uncoated or semi-coated, allowing us to control how much of the heat is delivered to the surface of the skin. Using an uncoated head on lighter skin individuals to deliver more heat at the surface and get faster results such as with pore size reduction, skin tone, and texture. One of the primary benefits of Secret RF is that the treatment is highly customizable, making it suitable for a wide range of skin types or concerns. If we are concerned about skin sensitivity or hyperpigmentation the Secret RF is the better choice because the treatment can be finely adjusted.

Morpheus8 has 40-pin head that is designed to target deep into the skin. This deeper penetration delivers the heat below the dermal layer into the subdermal fat layer, effectively liquifying the fat. It's fabulous at reducing stubborn fat pockets along with the other benefits of RF microneedling (skin tightening, texture improvement, and improved skin tone and texture). What we love about it for our body treatments is the burst mode. It delivers a sequence of three penetrations at varying depths with one pass. This speeds up our intense body treatments, making it faster and more tolerable for our clients.

We love both of our RF microneedling devices equally and choose which one we use during a treatment based upon what will deliver the best outcome for our clients.

This is the most commonly asked question we get from our clientele. We make our treatments as painless as possible. We apply numbing cream prior to the session, which helps alleviate the pain. Mild to moderate discomfort is an inherent part of the process. Most of our clients with self-professed "low" pain tolerances have been perfectly able to easily tolerate it. Taking Tylenol prior to the treatment can also help moderate pain.

Most patients require three to four treatments over six months.

RF microneedling results are typically visible within 2-4 weeks with continued improvement up through 6 months after your last session. Results can last for 2-4 year, depending upon your skin care regimen. Suitable for all skin types.

For treatments combining Secret RF with LaseMD, results from laser skin resurfacing are visible within days of treatment.

Many of our clients experience visible results after just one treatment. We typically recommend a series of sessions to experience the maximum benefit. Results continue to improve for up to six months after the your last RF microneedling session.
